Ozone Oil Concentration
The concentration of ozone that an oil can hold will vary based on the amount of unsaturated fatty acids each oil has. Some oils are better than others in creating high potency ozone concentrations. Some seed oils have the highest concentration of unsaturated fatty acids such as safflower, sunflower & flax seed oil. Yet seed oils also have a reaction within the body that can create high levels of inflammation. We prefer to use olive oil as our main base oil for ozonation and its mostly because its one of the most research backed ozonized oils. Olive oil also has the highest level of monounsaturated fat of any other oil. We know that olive oil does not create the same inflammatory reaction as seed oils. This gives us more confidence that the anti-inflammatory response of ozone will have a better affect when applied to the skin because its not counteracting the inflammation caused but the oil.
We have ozonized olive oil for 20 years, we know the exact concentration of ozone to use. We know how long it takes to reach its full saturation point at our altitude of 5375ft above sea level. Ozonizing olive oil is a neat process in which the oil starts out green, turns yellow, then it becomes clear and when its fully saturated it becomes white and it solidify’s. Ozonized olive oil isn’t ready to be used until it is fully solid.
Fully saturated ozone oil is great to use on certain skin issues but it can be overly aggressive on the surrounding healthy skin cells. Over oxidation of healthy cells isn’t the goal, it can cause damage. If there is an infection, lets say MRSA (methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus) a drug resistant bacterial infection then, yes I’d absolutely want fully concentrated oil. For daily application however, I’d want an ozone formulation that I know will be effective yet boost the healthy cells without damaging them. I started noticing that when we would use pure concentrated ozone oil on wounds, they would heal but the surrounding undamaged skin would become red and inflamed. Overall healing time was also reduced but the newly forming cells can’t cope with the oxidative burden of the full concentration ozone oil. With a diluted oil the healthy cells would divide into sister cells faster and close the wound quicker.
You may have heard not to use hydrogen peroxide on wounds because it can delay the healing process. This is especially true of deeper wounds or wounds that require stitches. This is due to the very same reason, the high oxidation of hydrogen peroxide actually kills some of the newly forming cells that heal the wound.
The flip side to this is that you don’t want oils that have too low of an ozone concentration, they won’t have the beneficial ozone response. We have been making ozone products for so long that we have all this figured out for you. You as the consumer may be unaware of these little details. Just because its an “ozone product” doesn’t mean that it provides the best possible results.
I saw this happen within our IV Therapy business over the last 5 years with IV franchises and Med Spa’s trying to do IV therapy. They were using a very small amount of IV ingredients, charging a high price but the patient was unaware that what they were getting was basically an expensive saline IV. We would use 25-100ml of ingredients compared to the 3-5ml from the Hydration IV franchises or Med Spas. People weren’t getting therapeutic levels of nutrients yet they were paying extremely high prices.
Ozone Charged products are made with ozonized oils that are fully saturated, then diluted only enough to have a balance between too little or too much. When we make a batch of ozonized olive oil it takes exactly 21 days per quart of oil. The oil will solidify at exactly 3 weeks and we have multiple machines running concurrently. We have a constant flow of oil that is being produced and once it is fully concentrated it is then immediately refrigerated until blended into
the final product. Once our products are produced they too are refrigerated until shipped. We do this so we know that you as the consumer will be receiving the highest quality product possible. You don’t have to refrigerate the products once you receive them unless you buy in bulk then I would suggest keeping the ones you’re not using in the refrigerator to maintain the quality. The products I’m using personally sit on my bathroom counter top, no special storage needed.
Something else that’s important about Ozone Charged products is that we only ozonize our oils in glass, plastic is never used. Our ozone lines are food grade silicone which is ozone resistant. Yes, the silicone lines become fragile quickly and we replace them often but we know that we are providing the best quality product possible. Our ozone generators do not generate “hot” ozone like some machines do, ours use a cold corona discharge method with pure oxygen flowing through them.
All in all we are very confident that the products we create are of the highest quality and give the right balance between too little or too much ozone. We are sure that you will enjoy using them and develop just as much confidence in them as the thousands of other customers have over the last 20 years.
